When you are ready, you can head to our contact page to arrange a consultation time to suit you.

Ear Care Consultation

Book a consultation with us at our clinic. We’ll discuss and record your medical history, use a small otoscope camera to check your ear canals and discuss the results with you. If there is excess ear wax that needs removing, we offer two services and will discuss which one is most appropriate.

If no ear wax removal is needed, you only pay for your consultation. Should we identify any other ear or hearing issues, we will advise you who you should contact next.

We can take images of your ear canal for you to keep if needed. If there is any abnormality, you can take the images straight to your GP for further advice.

Microsuction for your Ears

Microsuction is an ear wax removal procedure for ears which uses a medical suction device to gently remove ear wax and debris. A specula will be inserted into your ear canal to allow us to view any potential blockage. Using a pair of loupes (glasses with built-in microscopes) we can magnify your ear canal. You will be able to see the inside of your ear canal on a screen.

Once you are ready, we’ll start our microsuction procedure to clear your ears, leaving you with improved hearing and clean and comfortable ears.

Before Your Appointment

Please use olive oil, which is dropped into your ear canals to soften ear wax before visiting us. This should be done for three to five days prior to your appointment, but stop using the oil the day before you are due to be seen. Olive oil helps to soften and lubricate the wax, which better enables us to remove the wax.

If you suspect you have a perforation to your eardrum DO NOT use olive oil and check the NHS website for further advice or call your GP.
